On February 26, the government and its partners presented the Green Zero Rate Loan to help households complete work to transform their current home into environmentally friendly housing. In addition to this eco-loan, other financing mechanisms exist including tax credits.

Tax credits are granted to tenants, owners or occupants free of charge. The amount of expenses qualifying for the tax credit is capped at 8,000 euros for a single person and 16,000 euros for a couple. This sum is increased by 400 euros per dependent.

The zero-rate loan is accessible to all French households without a resource condition. At most, they can obtain 30,000 euros repayable over 10 years, or even 15 years, negotiable with one of the eleven credit agencies partners. To obtain this loan, households must have a bunch of energy-saving work done, such as the insulation of attics, windows and doors, and the installation of a new heating system.
